I’m a communications specialist and social‑first content creator who turns complex ideas into clear, engaging stories. At the Financial Markets Authority I plan and deliver multi‑channel campaigns, write media materials and scripts, and produce video‑first content including a podcast I host and edit tailored for short‑form and feed‑friendly formats. I collaborate across PR, legal and digital teams to create work that’s accurate, on‑brand and on time. I translate performance insights after campaigns into creative that consistently improves. Previously, I led marketing and communications for a global technology manufacturer and managed multi‑client workflows at an agency, creating blogs, web copy, social content, reports and partner collateral. I care about accessible, audience‑first storytelling and I’m happiest when I’m scripting, shooting and editing pieces that spark conversation and measurable growth. Jess Learns to Invest Podcast

I script, produce, host and edit the Financial Markets Authority’s podcast - "Jess Learns to Invest" a candid, educator‑led journey that demystifies investing for everyday New Zealanders. Each episode is repackaged into a multi‑platform content kit, transforming long‑form conversations into bite‑size Reels/Shorts, carousels and captions tailored for Instagram and YouTube. The result is scroll‑stopping, compliant content that turns complex topics into clear, actionable insights and reaches audiences where they are.

Food Social Media

I planned and published social media content across channels, turning seasonal moments and food holidays into scroll‑stopping content. I shoot and edit short‑form video and stills, write playful, brand‑true captions, and package content that highlight hero products and behind‑the‑scenes baking. The result: consistent engagement, steady follower growth, and a feed that customers look forward to.

Design and Newsletter Work

I design and deliver visually engaging newsletters and campaign assets that balance clarity with brand consistency. Using tools like Mailchimp and Campaign Monitor, I create layouts that showcase key messages, pair them with compelling visuals, and optimise for readability across devices. My work includes internal updates, external stakeholder communications, and promotional campaigns each crafted to drive engagement and reinforce brand identity. From concept and copywriting to design and distribution, I manage the full process to ensure every send feels polished and purposeful. I have also create product guides and user guides to help customers.

Navigating KiwiSaver Podcast

I created and hosted a podcast series focused on KiwiSaver, designed to make retirement savings simple and relatable for everyday New Zealanders. From scripting and interviewing to editing and packaging episodes, I managed the entire production process. Each episode was repurposed into short-form Reels and YouTube Shorts, with captions and hooks tailored for social platforms. This multi-channel approach extended reach, boosted engagement, and helped demystify KiwiSaver for a broad audience.

World Investor Week

I produced a series of short‑form videos for World Investor Week, turning complex financial concepts into clear, engaging sort form videos. From scripting and hosting to editing, I created content that felt approachable. Each video was redesigned into Reels and YouTube Shorts, optimised for social trends and audience retention. The campaign helped boost engagement and reinforced FMA’s role as a trusted voice in financial education.

Dispute Resolution Campaign

Our Dispute Resolution Campaign was designed to close a critical gap in consumer awareness: knowing how to complain when things go wrong. Financial services can feel complex and intimidating, and research shows fewer than one-third of people are confident they know how to raise a complaint with their provider. This campaign makes dispute resolution accessible, human, and easy to understand. I created an animated case study campaign for social media.

Check it out with Someone Else

I contributed to the Check It Out With Someone Else campaign, an initiative designed to help New Zealanders spot and avoid investment scams. The campaign encouraged people to pause and talk to someone they trust, like a friend, family member, or financial adviser before committing to online investments. Through engaging social media content, emotive imagery, and practical tips, we highlighted red flags such as unrealistic promises and pressure to act urgently. Running alongside World Investor Week and Fraud Awareness Week, the campaign achieved outstanding results: over 9.4 million impressions.

RFID Marketing

I managed end-to-end marketing content for Times-7, a global RFID antenna manufacturer, creating blog posts, social graphics, and partner-facing presentations that communicated technical solutions in a clear, engaging way. My role included planning and writing thought-leadership pieces, designing visual assets for social channels, and producing collateral for international distributors and partners. This multi-channel approach ensured consistent messaging across web, social, and B2B communications, strengthening brand presence and supporting global campaigns.

Complex Content

I specialise in converting complex regulatory warnings into clear, engaging social media and short‑form video content that people actually act on. My process is fast and structured: distil the core risk and consumer takeaway, identify the 2–3 red flags that matter most, then tailor platform‑specific copy and visuals (Reels, carousels, LinkedIn) with accessible language, alt‑text, captions and CTAs to the warning page or FSPR. I collaborate with Regulatory Services for accuracy, Legal for wording, and Māori language advisors where appropriate to produce bilingual posts.

Photography and Videography

I have the capability to manage videography and photography from start to finish, ensuring a seamless creative process. From planning and storyboarding to capturing high-quality images and filming engaging video content, I handle every step in-house. My expertise includes professional editing, creating captions for social media, graphics, and optimizing for multiple platforms, so the final product is polished and ready for social media, websites, or internal campaigns. This end-to-end approach guarantees consistency, quick turnaround, and cost efficiency while maintaining a strong visual identity.
